Dust is a fact of life in an arena and can not only ruin a training session but may compromise your health and the health of your horse. There are many types of dust control systems available, including hand watering, rain bird sprinkling systems, water trucks and even underground watering systems. Many of these systems are not ideal for horse and rider and some simply do not work. We are proud to announce our new affiliation with a company out of Germany called Buchholz – they make systems that DO work.
These state-of-the-art automatic irrigation systems, called Aquamobiles, are misting systems mounted on booms that travel up and down the length of your arena. Not only do they look much nicer than sprinklers and hose, or pipes in the ceiling strung from wires, they disperse the moisture evenly, without drips or pools of standing water. In most cases, no reservoir is required and the system can be turned on or off at will or set up on a timed schedule.
With airborne dust being well known as a cause of respiratory diseases in horses, this kind of dust suppression is a necessity for those that are contemplating building or retrofitting an existing riding arena. Install an Aquamobile professional arena overhead watering system and your arena will be a joy to ride in.
The design of the spray boom (the pipe and nozzles) allows for 100% irrigation evenness in your arena. Its slim profile and adjustable height means its almost invisible and will fit perfectly with the architecture of your riding arena. And because you can set up sectional sprinkling, the Aquamobile balances the moisture of areas that are subject to dehydration by sunlight or air currents.
High Precision Nozzles
Special high-precision nozzles distribute the water perfectly and prevent drips. The nozzles are equipped with quick couplings to simplify cleaning and replacement.
Edge Area Nozzles
In an arena, moisture is needed most on the outer circle, but your arena’s outer walls – especially if they’re made of wood – must not get wet. Most irrigation systems cannot ensure both. With its special edge area nozzles, the Aquamobile waters where you ride most without compromising the structure of the arena.
The Aquamobile’s drive unit housing is made of stainless steel and is the main reason for its extreme high quality and longevity. The 4 driving wheels make the system mobile and their position ensures that the unit cannot jam. The 24V electric engine has been designed to avoid accidents in case of broken cables. And 100% even irrigation is achieved because the speed of the drive unit is consistent from the beginning of your arena to the end.
An energy channel, or “chain”, made of high-impact plastic with a low winding radius neatly encases the water hose and the control cables.
The analog control, with its 12 pre-set, practical programs and adjustable speed, is easy to use. It can be set independently in both forward and reverse. The unit is started with a simple push of a button or fully automatic with the integrated timer. A special program for winter draining ensures safety in case of frost.
Rail and Energy Chain Channel
The self-supporting, galvanized rail is designed to avoid jamming or stopping of the drive unit and is another of the high quality features of the Aquamobile. The ribbed tread of the drive wheels provides superior propulsion of the unit. The aluminum channel which guides the energy chain is funnel-shaped and ensures accurate and secure guidance. Its 2-piece construction with open bottom prevents dust and dirt from accumulating in the channel
A 5″ LED screen with touch panel is mounted in a stainless steel housing, and can be expanded to a fully automated, temperature controlled winter system.
